The 13th District is one of the most diverse districts in America. Our communities comprise of residents from all walks of life, including 44.6% of those who identify as a minority. Our communities have played many important roles in welcoming newly arrived refugees and immigrants as ports of entry. In recent years, our neighborhoods have resettled Vietnamese, Ethiopian, Syrian, Afghani, East and West African, and Ukrainian refugees, in addition to immigrants from Greece, Poland, China, Mexico, Venezuela, Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador, South Korea, China, Germany, and other countries.
